The Caucasian weavers reached the highest development of primitive conventional design.
Their borders are usually wide, with a great number of varying stripes, often using the latch hook, swastika and barber pole motifs.
The designs in the field are often large diamonds, octagons, squares or triangles, sometimes six- or eight-pointed stars. You find stiff naive little animal figures woven in odd corners or dropped hit or miss onto the field.
